A new purchase … this one’s for me! We found this car stored in a garage in Churchton, Maryland. It’s an actual “Pro Stock” car that was campaigned in the early 1980’s. It was for sale “turn key” with the original drivetrain, an all-aluminum 498 cubic inch big block and LENCO transmission. Although reasonably priced, it was still quite a bit of money … we bought it less motor and trans.

The future plans for the Fairmont include a somewhat “period correct” restoration with “safety” updates … It now has an almost complete 706 cubic inch all-aluminum Pro-Stock “AR” Ford Hemi and a “CS-1” LENCO transmission.

This is an early “Top Alcohol Dragster” that hangs in the shop quietly awaiting a possible return someday … possibly in the IHRA “Quick-Rod” or “Top Dragster” division?
