The first engine we ran in the ’63 … A 390 “FE” style Big Block,
bored .080” to accommodate a 406 rotating assembly … the 3-dueceset-up is off of an early model T-Bird.
The birth of the “Shenandoah Shaker” … making her first debut at Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, Virginia.
Leaving the line with a new 428 “Super Cobra Jet” power plant
at Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, Virginia.
The ’63 at “Thunder Valley”, Bristol International Dragway, Bristol
Tennessee … At this point the car had a narrowed rear with 4-link and coil-overs in the back, but kept the “ol’ skool” straight axle with leaf springs in the front. The narrowed front axle was out of a Ford Econoline van! The old “FE” style big block had been replaced with a 460 style big block.
